In Salesforce CPQ software, quotes are automatically generated based on a pre-programmed set of rules, considering quantities, discounts, customizations, optional features, multiple revenue types, and incompatibilities.

Salesforce CPQ projects, this certification is essential for customers and partners who want or have already implemented CPQ. 

The SalesforceAdministrator Certification or equivalent experience is recommended, even though the CertifiedCPQ Specialist Certification has no prerequisites at this time.

What is the cost-of-living crisis?

Since late 2021, the UK has experienced a decline in 'real' disposable incomes. This has been largely caused by high inflation driven by energy prices, which has outpaced wage and benefit increases.

As part of its response to high energy prices, the government announced some measures in early February. Former chancellor Rishi Sunak announced some general policies to support squeezed household budgets in the spring statement.  In late May, Sunak announced a much larger package of assistance for household energy bills. Now that the new #minibudget2022 has been announced, the support package is in motion!

Salesforce Vs The recession
Our previous blog, SALESFORCE CAREERS VS RECESSION, explored how the looming recession could impact the Salesforce infrastructure.

There are a few things that need to happen for a recession to affect Salesforce careers. It would require Salesforce to sell fewer products to new or existing customers, reducing the workload for Salesforce professionals. As an alternative, existing Salesforce customers would have to stop using it as a platform altogether, which is unlikely.

We concluded…
For some Salesforce professionals working at end users, job losses and bankruptcies are almost a certainty, as many other sectors will also be affected. Occasionally, circumstances out of your control may force companies to cut costs, drop Salesforce licenses, and layoff employees. Economic downturns are, of course, inevitable.

Dreamforce 2022 Day 2 – Run down!
The Red-Hot Chili Peppers performed at Oracle Park to close out Day 2 of Dreamforce, one of the largest conventions in San Francisco. With more than 40,000 attendees, the Salesforce event has provided a much-needed boost to the city's economy.

For the first time in two years, the three-day event has returned in full force across the city. Steadman Brown are here today to disclose information on yesterday's highlights in case you missed any!

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Commerce Marketplace, Digital Subscription App, Direct to Consumer App
Businesses can create recurring revenue streams using Salesforce's Digital Subscription App, and their Direct-to-Consumer App has now been available generally. Additionally, the company announced its upcoming marketplace service, which will make it easier for companies to launch new marketplace offerings, both for customers and for businesses. The new service is scheduled to be available sometime next year, and it should assist customers in diversifying their revenue streams.

Salesforce Payments
A number of new payment methods will also be added to Commerce Cloud stores, including Afterpay and Venmo. According to Salesforce, the implementation of these new methods will be as simple as selecting them in the back end.
Using Salesforce Genie, a variety of payment methods will be presented to different people based on their previous interactions.
According to Salesforce, picking and packing from online stores has become easier. In order to reduce the time it takes for buyers to receive their products, a new store fulfilment app allows associates to identify orders that need to be completed quickly.




Net Zero Keynote
Salesforce announced yesterday that it would launch a Net Zero marketplace for carbon credits with the goal of making the purchase of offsets easier and more transparent. 

The U.N. climate science panel has said that man-made carbon dioxide emissions need to fall by about 45% by 2030, from 2010 levels, and reach "net zero" by mid-century to give the world a good chance of limiting warming to 1.5C and avoiding the worst impacts of climate change, but the world has already heated up by about 1.1C and is currently on track for increasing to at least 3C this century as emissions continue to rise. Scientists say that would bring ever-worsening extreme weather and potentially a catastrophic sea-level rise, making some parts of the planet uninhabitable and fuelling hunger and migration.

What is net zero?

Achieving net zero emissions is not the same as eliminating all emissions. It means ensuring any human-produced carbon dioxide or other climate-changing emissions that cannot be done away with are removed from the atmosphere some other way. This can be done naturally, such as by restoring forests that suck CO2 out of the air. It can also can be done using technology that can capture and store emissions from power plants and factories or directly pull CO2 from the atmosphere.

The Salesforce sustainability strategy will also include supporting ecopreneurs, along with pursuing net zero goals and sequestration projects. We are excited to see what this will look like.

Marc Benioff, Salesforce's co-CEO, takes the stage for a "fireside chat" with Jane Goodall, anthropologist, and zoologist.
According to Goodall, the species is at the beginning of an exceptionally long, very dark tunnel. At the other end is a bright star: hope. As a result of the effects of climate change on the environment, there are environmental challenges. 
Each and every one of us has an impact on the planet on a daily basis, and we have to decide how we wish to influence that impact."

This year's theme is: Calling all Trailblazers! Within the next 3 days, Salesforce community members from all over the world will gather for learning, fun, community building, and philanthropy. Trailblazers gather to share their insights, successes, and learn the latest in industry innovations.

Five exciting things to look out for at Dreamforce:
New Product or Acquisition Announcements
The anticipation surrounding this event is what makes it so exciting.
In the past, Dreamforce has served as a launch pad for new products as well as an announcement platform for acquisitions. Acquiring brand-new products always promises enhanced platform capabilities.
Slack Product Strategy
Slack was acquired by Salesforce in July 2021. Teams can connect in a collaborative workspace, increasing productivity and sales. Teams realize not only internal benefits, but also valuable connections with external partners, thus helping their companies grow.
This brings curiosity as to how Slack will be further integrated into the core Salesforce products given the power of the platform. How will it replace Chatter as the primary method of collaboration across all Salesforce applications? We at Steadman Brown are hoping that Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield can provide some valuable insight into these questions and many others.  
Industry Cloud Updates
Salesforce's verticalized solutions are built by industry experts for industry experts. Among the sectors served are financial services, health, consumer goods, manufacturing, public sector, communication, media, and energy and utilities.
Dreamforce will be an interesting place to see if new capabilities and features will be added to the existing suite of industry cloud products. If so, what are they? Are there any new industry clouds on the horizon? Is Salesforce planning to integrate Velocity utilities into its core platform? We'll have to wait and see!
Employee Experience Solutions
The Work.com product has evolved from a contact tracing and COVID management tool into an employee portal solution post pandemic. Technology and its impact on the workforce are evident in this product. Using solutions that bridge gaps in one location, it boosts employee and management productivity.
It will be interesting to follow the development of this product, which has the potential to become a full-fledged HR system in the future.
 Remote Selling
Does Salesforce plan to update its original product, Sales Cloud, given the shift to more remote selling during the pandemic? It is questionable whether they will develop new features, such as the ability to launch and manage digital sales rooms.
Digital sales rooms are online spaces where B2B companies can share information and resources with their buyers to simplify the buying process. With enhanced collaboration features within the Salesforce platform, a secure buyer-seller space could revolutionize the buyer-seller experience. A centralized space allows all parties to share documents and other information throughout the entire deal process.

New Product or Acquisition Announcements
The anticipation surrounding this event is what makes it so exciting.
In the past, Dreamforce has served as a launch pad for new products as well as an announcement platform for acquisitions. Acquiring brand-new products always promises enhanced platform capabilities.
Slack Product Strategy
Slack was acquired by Salesforce in July 2021. Teams can connect in a collaborative workspace, increasing productivity and sales. Teams realize not only internal benefits, but also valuable connections with external partners, thus helping their companies grow.
This brings curiosity as to how Slack will be further integrated into the core Salesforce products given the power of the platform. How will it replace Chatter as the primary method of collaboration across all Salesforce applications? We at Steadman Brown are hoping that Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield can provide some valuable insight into these questions and many others.  
Industry Cloud Updates
Salesforce's verticalized solutions are built by industry experts for industry experts. Among the sectors served are financial services, health, consumer goods, manufacturing, public sector, communication, media, and energy and utilities.
Dreamforce will be an interesting place to see if new capabilities and features will be added to the existing suite of industry cloud products. If so, what are they? Are there any new industry clouds on the horizon? Is Salesforce planning to integrate Velocity utilities into its core platform? We'll have to wait and see!
Employee Experience Solutions
The Work.com product has evolved from a contact tracing and COVID management tool into an employee portal solution post pandemic. Technology and its impact on the workforce are evident in this product. Using solutions that bridge gaps in one location, it boosts employee and management productivity.
It will be interesting to follow the development of this product, which has the potential to become a full-fledged HR system in the future.
 Remote Selling
Does Salesforce plan to update its original product, Sales Cloud, given the shift to more remote selling during the pandemic? It is questionable whether they will develop new features, such as the ability to launch and manage digital sales rooms.
Digital sales rooms are online spaces where B2B companies can share information and resources with their buyers to simplify the buying process. With enhanced collaboration features within the Salesforce platform, a secure buyer-seller space could revolutionize the buyer-seller experience. A centralized space allows all parties to share documents and other information throughout the entire deal process.
