Salesforce CPQ  & the CPQ Specialist Certification!
Buying and selling processes are being simplified. With flexible offerings and seamless online experiences, B2B customers expect transactions to be as easy as B2C. A solution is also required to accommodate flexible payment terms.

SalesforceCPQ is the solution.

Here we share our knowledge and interpretation of everything Salesforce CPQ and how you might benefit from becoming a CPQ Specialist.

Before we start... What is Salesforce CPQ?

Salesforce CPQ software has been around for decades, but innovation in SF CPQ software is seen as the next big thing in sales optimization. Companies can use Salesforce's Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) tool to provide accurate pricing for various scenarios. By covering the end-to-end functions of an organization's sales activity, this unified quote-to-cash process enables reps to quote efficiently and accurately.

Salesforce CPQ creates a seamless experience for both sales representatives and customers, Salesforce. RevenueCloud and CPQ combine product/service configuration, pricing, quote creation, billing and ordering processes.

Facts

Companies use Salesforce CPQ to generate #quotes quickly and accurately for orders.

Salesforce #CPQapplications often integrate with #CRM platforms & #ERP programs.

In Salesforce CPQ software, quotes are automatically generated based on a pre-programmed set of rules, considering quantities, discounts, customizations, optional features, multiple revenue types, and incompatibilities.

Most companies that don’t use Salesforce CPQ software have a sales process that’s slowed by the time it takes sales to deliver accurate quotes.

Many companies are considering Salesforce CPQ Software because of its functionality and potential return on investment (ROI).

In conjunction with CRMs and ERPs, CPQ adoption will grow as companies see the benefits.

What is CPQ’s main advantage?
To deliver timely quotes, #salesreps need to find the right pricing rules in spreadsheets when offering options, configurations, or prices to customers. By clearly defining pre-programmed rules, Salesforce CPQ avoids this conflict - with the customer and within the company. You can specify every possible configuration, price, discount, and scenario in a CPQ application, making customizing products easy.

Why it’s important:

  • Increases Sales with Quote Accuracy
  • Identifies specialisations, add-ons, and upsells.
  • Saves time and speeds up processes.

Within an organization, different departments have different processes, such as manufacturinglegalsales, and finance. Through CPQ, these departments can communicate seamlessly.

  1. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) CPQ can be integrated with enterprise resource planning (ERP)systems, for example. Sales can check out delivery statuses, executives can look at sales processes, and operations can look at trends.
  2.
  3. CustomerRelationshipManagement (CRM) CPQ combined with your CRM system increases revenue and efficiency.

Want to get Salesforce CPQ specialist Certified?!
Someone with hands-on experience with the CPQ package is the ideal candidate for taking the CPQ Specialist exam. By taking this Salesforce Certification, you will demonstrate to others that you have the knowledge and skills needed to implement and roll out the CPQ package effectively. To pursue additional
Salesforce CPQ projects, this certification is essential for customers and partners who want or have already implemented CPQ.

The SalesforceAdministrator Certification or equivalent experience is recommended, even though the CertifiedCPQ Specialist Certification has no prerequisites at this time.
Dreamforce 2022 Day 2 – Run down!
The Red-Hot Chili Peppers performed at Oracle Park to close out Day 2 of Dreamforce, one of the largest conventions in San Francisco. With more than 40,000 attendees, the Salesforce event has provided a much-needed boost to the city's economy.

For the first time in two years, the three-day event has returned in full force across the city. Steadman Brown are here today to disclose information on yesterday's highlights in case you missed any!

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Commerce Marketplace, Digital Subscription App, Direct to Consumer App
Businesses can create recurring revenue streams using Salesforce's Digital Subscription App, and their Direct-to-Consumer App has now been available generally. Additionally, the company announced its upcoming marketplace service, which will make it easier for companies to launch new marketplace offerings, both for customers and for businesses. The new service is scheduled to be available sometime next year, and it should assist customers in diversifying their revenue streams.

Salesforce Payments
A number of new payment methods will also be added to Commerce Cloud stores, including Afterpay and Venmo. According to Salesforce, the implementation of these new methods will be as simple as selecting them in the back end.
Using Salesforce Genie, a variety of payment methods will be presented to different people based on their previous interactions.
According to Salesforce, picking and packing from online stores has become easier. In order to reduce the time it takes for buyers to receive their products, a new store fulfilment app allows associates to identify orders that need to be completed quickly.

Net Zero Keynote
Salesforce announced yesterday that it would launch a Net Zero marketplace for carbon credits with the goal of making the purchase of offsets easier and more transparent.

The U.N. climate science panel has said that man-made carbon dioxide emissions need to fall by about 45% by 2030, from 2010 levels, and reach "net zero" by mid-century to give the world a good chance of limiting warming to 1.5C and avoiding the worst impacts of climate change, but the world has already heated up by about 1.1C and is currently on track for increasing to at least 3C this century as emissions continue to rise. Scientists say that would bring ever-worsening extreme weather and potentially a catastrophic sea-level rise, making some parts of the planet uninhabitable and fuelling hunger and migration.

What is net zero?

Achieving net zero emissions is not the same as eliminating all emissions. It means ensuring any human-produced carbon dioxide or other climate-changing emissions that cannot be done away with are removed from the atmosphere some other way. This can be done naturally, such as by restoring forests that suck CO2 out of the air. It can also can be done using technology that can capture and store emissions from power plants and factories or directly pull CO2 from the atmosphere.

How Steadman Brown helps reach net zero!

Planting more trees worldwide is a popular way to absorb and store more carbon. At Steadman brown we have partnered with Time4Trees. As an organization, Salesforce believes that bold climate action is the only way forward... And we stand by this belief. By conserving, restoring, and growing one trillion trees, we will sequester one hundred gigatons of carbon and protect our oceans.

Every time we place a candidate, we will plant a tree! In addition, we offer a sustainable placement package to our successful candidates to celebrate landing their dream Salesforce job! The box contains 100% sustainable items! Additionally, we send out a Tree Certification from Time 4 Trees containing personalised GPS coordinates, site location, and tree name that we planted on their behalf.

Together, we are giving back to the environment. Through this partnership, we can contribute to the creation of a greener future by making a tangible and measurable difference in the environment. Salesforce itself is aiming to reduce its emissions by 50% by 2030 and is already running its real estate and data centres on renewable energy. - How great is that!

Ecopreneurs
Salesforce has frequently referred to the concept of ecopreneurs during the event. In order to minimize businesses' carbon footprint without placing a tax on operations, Salesforce provides talented individuals with the tools they require to develop products that can help minimize their carbon footprint. The Salesforce sustainability strategy will also include supporting ecopreneurs, along with pursuing net zero goals and sequestration projects. We are excited to see what this will look like.

Five exciting things to look out for at Dreamforce:
New Product or Acquisition Announcements
The anticipation surrounding this event is what makes it so exciting.
In the past, Dreamforce has served as a launch pad for new products as well as an announcement platform for acquisitions. Acquiring brand-new products always promises enhanced platform capabilities.
Slack Product Strategy
Slack was acquired by Salesforce in July 2021. Teams can connect in a collaborative workspace, increasing productivity and sales. Teams realize not only internal benefits, but also valuable connections with external partners, thus helping their companies grow.
This brings curiosity as to how Slack will be further integrated into the core Salesforce products given the power of the platform. How will it replace Chatter as the primary method of collaboration across all Salesforce applications? We at Steadman Brown are hoping that Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield can provide some valuable insight into these questions and many others.
Industry Cloud Updates
Salesforce's verticalized solutions are built by industry experts for industry experts. Among the sectors served are financial services, health, consumer goods, manufacturing, public sector, communication, media, and energy and utilities.
Dreamforce will be an interesting place to see if new capabilities and features will be added to the existing suite of industry cloud products. If so, what are they? Are there any new industry clouds on the horizon? Is Salesforce planning to integrate Velocity utilities into its core platform? We'll have to wait and see!
Employee Experience Solutions
The Work.com product has evolved from a contact tracing and COVID management tool into an employee portal solution post pandemic. Technology and its impact on the workforce are evident in this product. Using solutions that bridge gaps in one location, it boosts employee and management productivity.
It will be interesting to follow the development of this product, which has the potential to become a full-fledged HR system in the future.
 Remote Selling
Does Salesforce plan to update its original product, Sales Cloud, given the shift to more remote selling during the pandemic? It is questionable whether they will develop new features, such as the ability to launch and manage digital sales rooms.
Digital sales rooms are online spaces where B2B companies can share information and resources with their buyers to simplify the buying process. With enhanced collaboration features within the Salesforce platform, a secure buyer-seller space could revolutionize the buyer-seller experience. A centralized space allows all parties to share documents and other information throughout the entire deal process.
How will Salesforce respond to the trend of digital sales rooms?

Dreaming of Dreamforce
For Salesforce users and enthusiasts, as well as forward thinkers and innovators, Dreamforce is an exciting event. Exhilarating speakers inspire guests and provide a chance to connect with people from all walks of life.
Although Dreamforce has an agenda, it always manages to surprise attendees. Our team at Steadman Brown is eager to learn more about the Slack product strategy, updates to Industry Cloud, employee experience solutions and any new acquisitions.
