About The Stroke Association

Founded with the belief that everyone deserves to live as well as they can after a stroke, this charity supports people in rebuilding their lives. They accomplish this by providing specialist support, funding critical research, and campaigning to ensure that people affected by stroke receive the best possible care and support. 
Rebuilding lives after a stroke requires a team effort. Achieving this goal requires the determination of stroke survivors and their caregivers, the generosity of supporters, and the dedication of the healthcare and research communities. Among their key areas of activity are support services, information awareness, research, fundraising, campaigning, and volunteerism. 

Here's a about the Stroke Association's efforts to assist stroke survivors and why Steadman Brown is committed to doing the same.

Last year, a friend of ours, who was 24 years old, had a stroke. Unaware that someone in their 20s could have a stroke, she waited 28 hours before seeking medical attention. Although she recovered fast, stroke is one of the leading causes of adult disability in the UK. It's a common misconception that stroke only affects older people, but about a third of stroke victims are under 65. In the UK, more than 400 children have strokes every year. Thus, a stroke can strike anyone at any time.

As the only organization that funds ongoing rehabilitation for stroke survivors, we have chosen the Stroke Association for Pledge 1%. Because of this, we appreciate and support the stroke association in helping our friend Rebecca Miskin and many others worldwide who receive the charity's support.

What is Pledge 1%?

Pledge 1% is a global movement that allows companies and organisations to donate their time, product, profit, and equity, to any charity they choose. Pledge 1% is prevalent in the Salesforce community, primarily due to Salesforce themselves being a Pledge 1% member and advocate for helping others. This has seen multiple Salesforce partners, customers and suppliers follow suit, to help those in need by pledging 1% of their time, product, profits, or equity.

What does Steadman Brown pledge?

Steadman Brown is pleased to pledge 1% of our annual profits, 1% of our time, and 1% of our product to charity annually. Our team decides the charity(s) that we choose to help to ensure that we support the causes closest to our hearts.
