One of the most important parts of our job as the UK’s leading Salesforce recruiters is to ensure our candidates have the best possible experience working with us. We’re proud to have placed over 500 candidates across the ecosystem, and encourage steps in the right direction for their Salesforce careers.
We welcome all of our candidates to leave feedback after working with us; this not only helps us ensure we’re delivering, but also to identify areas we may be able to improve. The power of feedback is also great for other Salesforce professionals to know they’re in safe hands whilst working with Steadman Brown. If you've ever wondered what its like to work with Steadman Brown, hear from one of our candidates in this case study.
Yulii's Experience:
We placed Yulii in his first-ever Salesforce Developer role in the UK, following his relocation from Ukraine. Even though our roles are primarily UK based, we work with candidates and clients from all over the world! Steadman Brown were the first recruitment agency Yulii met in the UK, and the only recruitment company necessary to find him the role he wanted.
‘I had dealt with recruiters elsewhere, and never had this kind of experience.’
Yulii stressed that prior to speaking with Steadman Brown, his idea was that a recruiter had one clear job to do:: find a suitable candidate for a company, and nothing more. He thought questions were purely based on eligibility and ensuring that a candidate meets company requirements.
However, what stood out about working with Steadman Brown was how much further our consultation went than these surface-level questions. When working with our team, Yulii remembers most being asked questions about what he specifically wanted from a role, eg. What did he enjoy most about previous Salesforce Development projects or teams? How could we ensure this was possible in a new job? Yulii was also pleasantly surprised by our conversations around his wider future, not just the opportunity in front of him. It’s always important that we ask what our candidates' goals are and where they intend their Salesforce careers to go.
‘This wasn’t just a warm welcome, it was practical pieces of advice.’
As well as this deeper understanding of his whole career picture, Yulii also applauded Steadman Brown for our advice and guidance throughout his Salesforce interview process. Once presented with the aligned opportunity, Yulii mentioned he was given the utmost preparation for his Salesforce interview. This spanned from general prep, frequently asked questions, and ways he could go above and beyond - our communication truly helped.
Yulii’s situation was also somewhat unique, as it was his first time carrying out Salesforce interviews in the United Kingdom. Interestingly, interviews and their content can look very different in Europe compared to the United Kingdom. Yulii mentioned that personally, he found interviews throughout Europe are much more focused on technical eligibility, whereas interviews in the UK sometimes place equal importance on culture fit. As we understand that all candidates will have different experiences with interviews, we ensure that our communication throughout the process is always as transparent as possible.
‘Steadman Brown did a lot of background work, where nothing was too much to ask’
Furthermore, for our consultants, this was also our first time handling Yulii’s specific visa requirements, meaning it was a learning curve for the both of us. Our consultants made an effort to research and understand the logistics of Yulii’s visa, and he appreciated how these background logistics were handled with efficiency and professionalism.
One piece of advice for Salesforce candidates? “Research matters, know the company and find common ground.”
When asked for one piece of advice for those looking for a new opportunity, Yulii’s main recommendation was to research! Whether you're a Salesforce Developer like Yulii, or specialise in another Salesforce role, research the company. Make sure you have at least some understanding of the projects, and you can bring this knowledge into your interview. He also recommends knowing the employees with whom you may work. Perhaps those figures actively post about their passions on LinkedIn, and you could relate there? Common ground matters, and it has helped Yulii throughout his Salesforce career journey.
